Nickelodeon executives didn’t like the whole LGBTQA stigma being introduced to their series, they were ones who had power to cancel the series. they argued with creators on ending of girl relationship with other girl. they threatened to cancel it. but creators knew the cancellation was already on way. so they made efforts to include the ending without changing too much, just no kissing only stare into each other’s eyes. the executives originally wanted ending of Makorra relationship to rekindle. but creators refused to do so. they wanted Korra to be bisexual. they got it. it was very subtle trick to fool executives. in beginning, nickelodeon executives decided to put whole series on internet as of way to make sure Korra season suffered viewing issues. they found out that Korra was getting popular and had more views than any shows. to be honest, they just didn’t like the idea of strong female lead character. so they deliberately tried to sabotage the show with internet views in order to create dislike and hate, loss of viewership and put the show back on tv to see if it worked. it did. they managed to create hatred and dislike towards Korra. claiming that she’s a bad Avatar, not good as Aang. many more points regarding both were made on both sides. what they do fail to realize that Korra is essentially Aang’s reincarnation and the last Avatar of original cycle. after Book Spirits, she’s now the First Avatar of new cycle. Korra had character development that actually showcases the trauma and issues that everyday life we face in real life. Nickelodeon executives found out about the slipped in scene that creators put in to get viewers to care about Korra series. and so, they prompted to cancel the series. second season was cancelled. they too, cancelled Korra game. ending it finally in 2014. ending creators’s run of Korra after three years. they also ended license regarding the game for anyone else who wants to purchase it. it would expired in December 2014. they also refused to renew the license to platinum games when they wanted to make more opportunities for gamers who wanted to own the game.
